Elizabeth is an an epidemiologist who has spent over a decade working on the defining epidemic of our age: HIV. She has researched and worked as an advisor for the Ministries of Health of China, Indonesia, East Timor and the Philippines, and has also provided analysis and policy advice to UNAIDS, the World Health Organisation, the World Bank, and the US Centres for Disease Control. She spoke over dessert, discussing what kind of sex we consider dirty (and why) at our first Dirt Banquet, held in collaboration with Bompas & Parr at Crossness Pumping Station. She came back for a repeat performance at the second Dirt Banquet at the Secret Garden Party, and lectured on the Wisdom of Whores at SGP 2011. Watch her wonderful TED Talk on why HIV is truly about nothing more than sex and drugs here.
