Statistician David Spiegelhalter is the Winton Professor of the Public Understanding of Risk in the MRC Biostatistics Unit at the University of Cambridge. He spoke on our individual chance of death (and by what cause) at the Secret Garden Party in 2009 and 2010. Also, at one point his intimate discussion of death risk on the Guerilla Science Island was disrupted by a ship of naked marauders. He loved it.
