Fancy some space tourism? Designer Nelly Ben Hayoun brings us her Soyuz Chair, developed in consultation with astronaut Jean-Pierre Haignere and sound artist Tim Olden and based on the Soviet spacecraft Soyuz. Lucky volunteers won’t actually go into orbit, but the experience is nothing less than out of this world.

Planetary space scientist Sheila Kanani will also be on hand to tell us how we get into space, what other planets will be like, and what it’s going to be like getting there – before you get to experience the sensation for yourself.

At the Lovebox weekend music festival in London’s Victoria Park, July 17 and 18, 12 to 4pm.

Festivals 2010

As summer approaches we are beavering away to bring choice science gems to the lovely music festival masses at Lovebox and the Secret Garden Party in July 2010.

Mixing music, the mind, escape, and – last but certainly not least – the universe into a summer festival melting pot is proving to be an exciting business indeed. Look out for synaesthetic collaborations with the adventure and play agency Coney, experience meditation and hypnotism , or take part in a feast of flavours with a molecular gastronomist. Or just zone out and stargaze in our travelling observatory.

Announcements soon. Keep an eye on our website or sign up for our newsletter to receive the latest updates and news on our London events.
